Westport began dispatching New Canaan fire calls at midnight Tuesday in the first combined dispatch in Fairfield County. The first New Canaan call was for two-car Merritt Parkway accident at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe said today.
