New Canaan and Westport have now officially joined forces, with the launch Wednesday morning of the town's newly combined fire dispatch system. Activation of the combined fire dispatch system, which had been approved by officials in both towns last summer, was announced jointly by New Canaan's First Selectman Rob Mallozzi and First Selectman Jim Marpe of Westport.
