Following the recent confirmation that a doctor tested positive for Ebola in New York City, Dr. David Reed, New Canaan's health director, said the town is prepared should a case be reported locally. Since 2007, the town's Department of Health has been part of the Region 1 Public Health Emergency Response Team, or PHERT.
