An employee at Ginger Bits, a coffee shop on Elm Street, told police that a man left the store without paying about $25 for a sandwich he ordered, then police found and arrested him, according to a New Canaan police report. On Thursday, Oct. 23, police got a call from an employee at the coffee shop, saying that after the man's credit card was declined, he left the store, telling her he'd pay for his meal later.
