More than 100 New Canaan High School students walked out of classes on Thursday, Dec. 4, to protest the decision by a grand jury to not indict New York City Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Eric Garner, according to a report by The Stamford Advocate. Students, who walked while school was in session, carried signs that read "Black Lives Matter" and shouted "I can't breathe," the last words spoken by Garner as he was placed in a chokehold that led to his death, the report said.
