More than 100 New Canaan High School students left their last class and held a rally and march to express their outrage the death of Eric Garner at the hands of New York City police officers on Staten Island, according to various reports. Reports differed on how many hundreds of the 1,300 of the school's students participated in the Thursday protest, which included speeches by organizer Charles Sosnick, a die-in outside the school, with students laying on the ground to illustrate the fact that Garner was on the ground when he died, and a march to New Canaan Police Headquarters.
