A 19-year-old Long Island man, stopped by police for going through a flashing red light without stopping, was charged with marijuana possession after police looked inside his car, New Canaan police said. A police officer stationed in his car near the intersection of Main Street and Cherry Street, saw a vehicle traveling south on Main Street go through the intersection without stopping for the flashing red light.
