It's been nearly four years in the making, but barring any unforeseen circumstances Francisco Illarramendi will hear his federal prison sentence Thursday for a multimillion fraud that included a Venezuelan pension fund. The former 45-year-old Michael Kenwood hedge fund operator from New Canaan faces up to 70 years in prison for bilking millions from investors, while filling his pockets with at least 20 of those millions through an elaborate Ponzi scheme that federal prosecutors claim was the largest ever uncovered in the state.
