The New Canaan Historical Society and the League of Women Voters are offering a special tour of local historic barns on May 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. "Historic Barns, Yesterday and Today" will show how many of New Canaan's historic barns remain standing thanks to a combination of smart preservation and dedicated local involvement. Because of the Historical Society's ongoing educational efforts and an innovative local ordinance that promotes thoughtful renovation, the barns on this special tour have not just survived, but thrived.
