One estimate pegged the cost to the town at over $33,000 after Milligan divorced his wife, but kept her on his health insurance for nearly four years, according to the New Canaan Advertiser Police Chief Leon Krolikowski and union lawyer Eric Brown had a contentious cross examination. Krolikowski learned that Milligan might be keeping his ex-wife on his insurance through his wife who heard a rumor in town.
