A surge of identity thefts in New Canaan represents the shifting nature of crime in the town, New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said at an informal lunch with his command staff and members of the community. "They've been a great partner," he said of the FBI, which recently helped New Canaan police track down five suspects in a November 2013 smash-and-grab jewelry store burglary downtown.
