Well, New Canaan police followed up by taking fingerprints and even DNA samples from the van, which had been parked in the Town Hall parking lot, and police say both pointed to a Bridgeport man who is now charged with the crime. Not only did Alvin Polchies, now 38, break into a contractor's van parked in the Locust Avenue and steal $9,700 worth of the man's tools.
