With growing concerns about the use of heroin in New Canaan, police are equipping themselves with a new tool to combat opioid overdoses. The department has become one of the first law-enforcement agencies in Connecticut to receive opioid overdose training following the enactment of the state's latest "Good Samaritan" law Oct. 1. The act provides immunity to a person who administers an opioid antagonist to a victim of an opioid-related overdose.
