New Canaan children and children's organizations are invited to pick up free kits to create and design gingerbread houses that will be displayed in storefront windows during the annual Holiday Stroll on Dec. 5. Kits can be picked up at the Halstead Property offices, located at 183 Elm St. on weekdays between 9 a.m. and noon. "You don't have to be Hansel or Gretel to appreciate the creativity and enthusiasm that our young people exhibit each year when building and decorating their own gingerbread houses," Tucker Murphy, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement.
