New Canaan police are investigating an attempted burglary at a commercial office downtown, following a report of substantial damage to the back door Tuesday morning, Sept. 9. Police were dispatched to 191 Elm St. after an employee at Laverack Capital Partners called to report that the person who delivers oil at the building noticed signs of an attempted forced entry to a steel door in the rear of the office, according to police.
