Congregational Church of New Canaan member Charles Crookenden pours apple juice into paper cups at the Pacific House Shelter for Men recently as his 10-year-old daughter Grace looks on. The church is being honored with the David S. Mond Volunteer Award at the Shelter for the Homeless' Rays of Hope Gala on May 13 for its work preparing meals at the shelter.
