The team's lethargy carried over to their first offensive series as New Canaan drove the Warriors back to their 16 where they were forced to punt, giving the Rams great field position at the Wilton 40. However, a sack by Jimmy O'Brien, two incomplete passes and a shanked punt by New Canaan gave the ball back to the Warriors. After a first down run was negated by a holding penalty, forcing a punt, the momentum in the game shifted as Austin Andersen's 61 yard punt left New Canaan deep in their own territory.
