A call to New Canaan police at 6:04 p.m. Thursday about a man either having some kind of medical problem or who was intoxicated, resulted in an officer approaching the driver of a car stuck in the Food Emporium parking lot at 280 Elm St. The Mercedes E550C was spinning its wheels in the snow, the vehicle's owner trying to drive it away, when the police officer went to the car and spoke with the driver. The driver, Cecil Goddard, 68, of 12 Husted Ln., had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
