The Blue Wave's coach, Katie Lauten , paced behind the bench after her team had defeated New Canaan 61-48 on Feb. 18. Darien needed help to nab the eighth and final spot in the FCIAC tournament. For the Wave to qualify they needed Westhill to upset Ludlowe, who Darien had defeated earlier in the week.
