Holding with a strong Republican electoral tradition, the GOP handily prevailed across the board in New Canaan contests Tuesday, unofficial numbers show. With more than twice as many votes tallied locally by Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, Republican challenger Tom Foley took New Canaan with 4,052 votes to 2,015 for Malloy.
